•        The decision was made last year by the Utility Board to pull our license fees ($888K last
year) out of the water department operating budget and establish a capital improvement fund
with these monies. Part of this money ($200K) was to fund projects at the lake that would
benefit those living around and using the lake area. LWCA had a committee that submitted
ideas to the Utility Board for use of this fund. $120,000 of this money was used to pay
pumping costs to maintain a reasonable lake level last summer. This left $80,000.

•        The boat ramp was one of the projects identified to spend some of this money on.
According to the City, the project will cost less than $40,000 and will enable launching at a
minimum lake elevation of 885.6’. The ramp will be longer and deeper than the current one.

•        New Marina Hours: now opens at 6:00 am seven days a week and is now offering
breakfast. You can choose from a ham & cheese omelet or a scrambled egg breakfast with
bacon and hash browns. Of course, they still offer their yummy cheeseburger basket all day
long.

•        Safety Requirement - It is a requirement to have your STREET NUMBER, not your lot
number physically on your home. Emergency dispatches via 911 direct the first responders
to your STREET NUMBER. 911 do not recognize lot numbers in the system. It is OK to have the
STREET NUMBER on your mailboxes too, but it MUST be on the house. Let's get those
numbers up, friends, any delay in locating an address number, may mean the difference
between life and death!

•        Website will be updated bi-monthly or as event arise.  The website is intended to keep
